Do we really know our loved ones?

 My emotional health took a blow. I realised I never really knew a close family member. Families are complicated, that's for sure. But I never realized that I had been living with a strong narcissist. At first I thought I was wrong, immaturely accusing someone in the flow. But I tried to detangle the mess. The hunger for approval and appreciation, general lack of empathy for others  feeling, blaming loved ones for the shortcomings in life , not taking responsibility and having a grandiose image of oneself. All these signs I had witnessed and accepted, all the while not acknowledging the weird behaviour.    It’s funny how we accept those things which we have always seen. But when our world expands and our outlook on life changes, we begin questioning different aspects of our life. And then we begin to change. Both ourselves and our surroundings. How to move on?

People do the same things but expect different outcomes. Literally, this happens, I have seen people doing this. People whine about how their lives are and say that they are doing everything they can but in most cases people doing the exact same thing with slightly different motives and expect totally different outcomes. And when they don't get what they wanted, they get frustrated or depressed. Well, everybody acts differently. This cycle is repeated over and over in their lives. The motivation, the hard work, the frustration ; this cycle is not good for a person's emotional mental balance.                The reason behind this is that expectations arise motivation in us that drives us to accomplish tasks. That is good only if the expectations are real and practical. False expectations lead us to our much hyped results which in reality do not resemble in any way to our expectations.
