Do we really know our loved ones?
My emotional health took a blow. I realised I never really knew a close family member. Families are complicated, that's for sure. But I never realized that I had been living with a strong narcissist. At first I thought I was wrong, immaturely accusing someone in the flow. But I tried to detangle the mess. The hunger for approval and appreciation, general lack of empathy for others feeling, blaming loved ones for the shortcomings in life , not taking responsibility and having a grandiose image of oneself. All these signs I had witnessed and accepted, all the while not acknowledging the weird behaviour. It’s funny how we accept those things which we have always seen. But when our world expands and our outlook on life changes, we begin questioning different aspects of our life. And then we begin to change. Both ourselves and our surroundings.
